This lovely sculpture is the work of one of the leading lights of 3rd Generation SHONA artists, SYLVESTER SAMANYANGA.
 
His pieces sell world wide and it's easy to see why. His attention to detail and the expressive nature of each piece is breath taking.
 
'When sculpting I use hand tools; hammer, punch, diamond rasp, chasing hammer and chisel. My favorite stone to curve is Springstone, Opal, Cobalt and all Serpentine. I have sold my works to the UK, China, Canada and most European countries. My ambition is to be known worldwide like other big artists and travel around the world demonstrating art. I am married and have 2 children, a girl and a boy. During working my wife helps me with ideas, sanding, rasping and polishing'.
 
FRUIT SERPENTINE is a lovely stone which can contain many colours and is a favoured medium by many artists. The differing hues within make each piece totally unique and add additional interest and attractiveness to each individual sculpture. enhancing it's natural beauty.
