This stunning sculpture is hand-carved from a single piece of LEOPARD ROCK by 3rd Generation SHONA artist, MACDONALD KUFA.
MACDONALD was born on the 8th September 1985 in Chinhoyi. His primary education was at Nyanhunzi Primary School and he completed his Ordinary Levels at Magaya Secondary School in Guruve.
He used to visit his friends, most of whom were artists, where he would familiarise himself with tools of the trade. His friend Willard Bopoto encouraged him to study art and helped him complete his first sculpture.
He worked hard to improve his skills and started to sell his works to clients in Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and other countries.
Macdonald learnt different techniques from experienced artists such as, Jonathan Mbewe and Jack Jonas.
The focus for his creations comes from his surroundings and names each one according to its surroundings.
He now teaches his skills to other sculptors.
His wish is to become a world renowned artist.
This stunning sculpture has unusual markings and has deep colouration throughout.
